When I was in Brisbane I cooked pretty regularly. I lived right in the CBD and the surrounding restaurants were either riverside and fancy, cafes that closed after lunch and a handful of fast food options. If you wanted anything that didn’t fit into one of these categories you had to go a little bit further away. So mostly I cooked. But now I can’t even remember how I managed that. For the last 2 years cooking has been something that occurs not very often. Usually I cook pasta because it’s something that I can make a lot of and it will reheat just fine. So it’s a rare occassion that I’ll make steak because that is not something worth reheating and it would require cooking more than once. But I decided it was worth the effort to grill up a steak, make a hash brown topped with a mushroom sauce.
