A contract of employment usually tells you that you’re expected to work x hours a week. Unfortunately this does not mean that you can divide that number by 4 and just work that many hours for 4 days of the week. My observation of the American work ethic in the past few years is that it is more about working at less capacity for longer hours. Do they not realise that work is not actually measured in terms of hours? If I remember my physics properly work is measured by force and displacement.
