After a peaceful night sleeping out in the desert under the stars we were rudely awoken by our Navajo guide revving the engine and honking the horn. This was his way of waking us up to watch the sunrise.
Waking up early let us head straight to the Grand Canyon. Went to some of the visitor centers and walked part of the Rim Trail from South Kaibab Trailhead to Mather Point where we stopped for a lot of random photos and some great views of the Canyon. I don’t know if standing at the Rim I was able to fully appreciate the size of canyon. This trip to the Grand Canyon is completely different from my last one, less about going to viewpoints and the helicopter ride and more about trying to figure out which hike to do. I feel grateful that I was able to watch the sunrise in Monument Valley and sunset in Grand Canyon.
